I was surprised at how comfortable the relatively thin head/neck cushion is, compared to the typical 'fat' cushioning in the few previous airplane pillows I've not enjoyed. I never had any way to stay comfortable with the previous pillows: just when starting to doze off, my head would always drop sideways or forward, waking me up very uncomfortably.I did doze off in the car for about 15 minutes (as a passenger, of course, not the driver!), late one night returning from a dinner. Headrest straps really work, once you get the hang of them. No nasty head jerking/dropping surprises. And the eye 'blinders' fit me nicely - a real necessity with this pillow because they act to 'anchor' your head to the pillow. I did not find it necessary to adjust them too tightly: support was good.I was a bit leery when I read the initial care instructions, which advised user to hand wash the blue colored items before using. A bit questionable, but better safe than sorry (didn't want to wake up with a bright blue neck when I got off the next plane ride!) No worries, no bleeding of colors in the sink on first wash. And no frayed threads even with a bit of scrubbing. Kept it below 104 degrees Fahrenheit, as instructed. Don't want to guess what happens at higher temps. The memory foam sucked up a LOT of water while hand washing. I hung up both pieces to drip dry (no wringing allowed!) but assumed they would not be dry for a week because they were so bloated with water. Nice surprise. Both pieces were bone dry after 2 days in the relatively dry basement.Lots of nice surprises. Lots of hope for next week's 3 hour plane flight. I'll edit this review if any surprises arise during the trip.Recommended, as of now. Will edit later if experience dictates.
